Sri Ram, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu had come to this world as a mortal to destroy demons. Festivals like Ram Navami (the birthday of Sri Ram) bring back memories of epic narrations from our loved ones that most of us have grown up with. Most of us remember the larger-than-life magic of the Ramayana series doled out in juicy installments on Sunday TV. This is not really a discussion of this epic saga nor a memoir of Lord Rama’s life events. This post simply puts together a handful of the most powerful Ram mantras as listed out by the Atharvaveda and Krishna Yajur Veda Upanishads, namely the Kali Santaran Upanishad, Ram Rahasya Upanishad and Rama Tapania Upanishads.

Sri Ram epitomized kindness, humility, grace, loyalty, dispassion and valor. He endeared himself to people and even animals with his nobility, strength of character and virtuosity. By being an ideal ‘Maryada Purush’ he set out a perfect role model for the future generations. Remembering him and worshipping him through his mantras, can help us inch closer to Him and Divinity.
